Reigning super flyweight boss Naoya Inoue made it a short night for the visiting  challenger Ricardo Rodriguez and KO’d him at 1:08 of the third round in Tokyo, Japan.

It was Inoue’s (13-0, 11 KOs) 5th defense and 11th KO. Rodriguez was ranked #2 by the WBO but was not in the same league as Inoue.

All signs point to a US debut on an HBO undercard this September. Early rumors suggest Inoue could land on either be on a Roman Gonzalez undercard should Roman get his own main event showcase, or quite possibly on the Canelo-Golovkin undercard.
