Daniel Jacobs scored another major victory for his career. He won the latest “Battle of Brooklyn” at the Barclays Center last Saturday night against adopted resident, Peter Quillin.

The TKO cements Jacobs resume as a top middleweight. His “regular” title, while second to the top dog, Gennady Golovkin, may not mean much, but the win did wonders. Jacobs can now look to headline further cards at the Barclays against opponents not affiliated with HBO.

Look for Lou DiBella, a promoter for Al Haymon, his manager, to be targeting the winner of the upcoming European brawls between Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders. While that winner will more than likely take on GGG if G can’t secure a fight with Canelo Alavarez, it’ll still raise the stakes in the division.
